The course of lectures INTRODUCTION TO POWDER TECHNOLOGY is devoted to the basics of working with nanostructured objects, for example, nanopowders, nanofibers, etc. Within the framework of the proposed course of lectures, the listeners will be introduced to research on the synthesis and consolidation of ceramic nanocomposites using such modern methods as Sperk-Plasma Sintering, Microwave sintering and Rate-controlled sintering. The advantages of nanostructure materials compared to traditional materials with a micron grain size will be shown.
Necessary knowledge
basic knowledge of physics of continuous media, mechanics of materials, physical chemistry and materials science, obtained during the acquisition of a bachelor’s degree.
Acquired skills
understanding of physical, physico-chemical and mechanical processes that determine the ability of powder materials to consolidation via different technology;
understanding of technological processes of powder materials synthesis and sintering;
basic principles of materials composition to obtain new or improve existing properties of materials;
organization of scientific research to obtain new materials and their evaluation.
The course is free. All students will receive certificates with the amount of ECTS credits on completing the course.
