The final event “I4Trust Datathon”

The final event “I4Trust Datathon” took place, where ideas and technologies for data exchange in the value chain using i4Trust Data Spaces tools were developed.

Organizers of the event: I4Trust, Virtual Center for Digital Innovation NOSC-UA DIH, Ukrainian Cluster Alliance (UKA), DIH Faubourg Numérique and 4irelabs.

Datathon was held in two stages. At the first stage on August 22, the Virtual Center for Digital Innovation NOSC-UA DIH presented a common approach to using i4Trust building blocks for secure and efficient data exchange across the entire value chain, reducing transaction costs.

Participants of the I4Trust Data-Ideathon and representatives of clusters of the Ukrainian Cluster Alliance presented their experience of working with Digital Twins and ideas for data exchange experiments that provide additional value to data for both providers and users. 4 teams were selected to support experiments with data, the participants of which received:

  • Consultations and advice of our experts in the process of preparing projects and conducting data experiments
  • Support in finding partners
  • Support in preparing an application for I4Trust 2nd Call.
  • Opportunity to participate in the i4Trust Virtual Networking Event on August 23

On Thursday, September 29, the final online event of the «I4Trust Datathon» took place, where teams received advice on using the i4Trust Data Spaces architecture to share data across the value chain and presented their data experiments.

Tonya Sapia, Senior Marketing and Project Manager FIWARE Foundation spoke about the i4Trust initiative and answered questions about the 2nd grant competition for the selection of experiments with data.

Dmytro Deynichenko talked about the peculiarities of using the decentralized I4Trust ecosystem for data exchange, focusing in more detail on issues of data compatibility; access control policies; participants roles of data exchange.

Vincent Demertier, head of DIH Faubourg Numérique, shared his experience of the practical implementation of the i4Trust Data Spaces architecture and answered the participants’ questions.

Next, participants’ ideas for practical applications of i4Trust Data Spaces were presented. Oleg Kotsar, candidate of technical sciences, assistant of the department of electricity supply of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Energy Management of the National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute named after I. I. Sikorsky” presented a project for exchanging data of household consumers on electricity consumption based on a single digital twin that is used to inform consumers about meter readings (load profile) with a certain periodicity and providing recommendations for increasing the level of energy efficiency.

Andriy Leso, architect company “ECODAR”, presented “active house radar”. Comfort data is proposed as the basis of the digital twin, and resource usage is minimized under comfort parameters.

An architect who uses data on the territory, materials, technologies, including uses third-party services and bases to design a maximally resource-saving and functional house. Based on the received data, the “radar” is calculated for comfort parameters (illumination, heat, air quality) taking into account the selected technologies, location and orientation of the house, resource efficiency, CO2 footprint and VIM models with the selected technologies. The architecture of data exchange between Radar and the ASEM energy monitoring system was presented by Maksym Kypenko, ESCO Ukraine.

Roman Kravchenko, head of the 482.solutions company, presented “ESG.Electrodo” – a self-verifying data broker for managing ESG (environmental, social and governance) data based on blockchain. The architecture of the deployment of ESG.Electrodo in i4Trust Data Spaces was presented – as a trust ecosystem that will provide an opportunity to research and publish ESG reporting, as well as to connect industrial enterprises in one platform to process data and provide data to their investment and insurance companies, which can assess how much business is environmentally friendly and ready for the transition to a “low-carbon” economy, and to what extent the company’s business assets are insured against the effects of climate change.

Yuriy Kalinichenko, Aleistin, Oleksandr Timofeev, Vikna Vikonda, presented a scheme for using the i4Trust platform for monitoring product quality control indicators based on digital duplicates in production chains of supply of metal structures from the POTOKI CENTER company.

Based on the results of the performances, V. Nochvai and K. Horohovskyi, NOSC-UA DIH, A. Borodyuk, Ukrainian Cluster Alliance, summarized the results of the teams’ performances and summed up the results of the datathon. Two teams received a prize from the sponsor of the datathon – the company 4irelabs in the form of 500 Euro vouchers for services for the preparation of grant applications.
