The Virtual Center for Digital Innovation (NOSC-UA DIH) develops digital innovation services for scientists, business sector and public authorities using cloud technologies and such advanced technologies as AI, Digital twins and Data space, Blockchain, and Cybersecurity.
NOSC-UA DIH – Digital Innovation Hub delivers digital services based on the cloud cluster of the Ukrainian National Grid (NOSC-UA HUB – Virtual Center for Digital Science), which supports the National Initiative of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC). This hub is being formed as an e-infrastructure based on existing e-infrastructures, grid and cloud technologies and interoperability at the institutional, national, European and global levels.
According to the general model of operation of digital innovation hubs, NOSC-UA DIH develops an innovation ecosystem and provides its participants a basic services for the Implementation of digital technologies: integration, adaptation, and adjustment of various technologies, testing, modeling, experiments that allow “test before invest”, demonstration events, assess digital maturity, promote awareness.
The aim of NOSC-UA DIH is to promote:
● cooperation between research infrastructures and innovation companies (in particular SMEs) based on digital technologies
● new products and services based on research and development (R&D), innovative “green” and digital technologies in collaboration with NASU institutions
● integration of Ukrainian SMEs and researchers in the European Research Area and the EU Digital Single Market.
NOSC-UA DIH was launched in 2021 as a non-profit project coordinated by the Kyiv Academic University (KAU) within the Targeted Research Program of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine “Mathematical Modeling in Interdisciplinary Research of Processes and Systems Based on Intelligent Supercomputer, Grid and Cloud Technologies” for 2021-2025.
In January 2024, NOSC-UA DIH signed an agreement together with another Kyiv digital innovation hub “Centre 4.0 Kyiv Polytechnic Institute named after Igor Sikorsky” (Centre 4.0 KPI DIH) and other partners on the creation of a regional DIH “Kyiv Hitech”, which is coordinated by the Ukrainian Cluster Alliance. In July, within the framework of the “Digital Europe” program competition, the “Kyiv Hitech” DIH received the international status of the European DIH (EDIH) from the European Commission.
