We invite you to the fourth course of the BOOSTalent project &#8220;Mathematical Foundations of Machine Learning&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This course is dedicated to the fundamental mathematical concepts essential for understanding machine learning.At its core, any machine learning algorithm involves the minimization or maximization of certain parameters.<br>The first lecture will focus on mathematical optimization, providing insights into its methods and addressing challenges encountered when searching for the minimum of a function.Following this lecture, you will be acquainted with &#8220;Stochastic Gradient Descent&#8221;, &#8220;Adam&#8221;, etc.<br>Next, we will shift our focus to probability and statistics.This segment aims to provide you with an understanding of generative models.<br>Additionally, you will enhance your toolkit with Bayes&#8217; theorem, basic statistical analysis, and simple text classification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>when:&nbsp;<\/strong>on an ongoing regular basis, follow the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/academcity.org.ua\/en\/events\/\">events<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>who:<\/strong>&nbsp;Dr. Vitaliy Tymchyshyn, Junior Research Fellow at Kyiv Academic University (KAU), Junior Research Fellow at Bogolyubov Institute of Theoretical Physics (BITP);<br>Dr. Volodymyr Bezguba, Senior Research Fellow at KAU, Acting Head of KAU Laboratory of Data Science and Machine Learning;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>language:&nbsp;<\/strong>English;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the course is for&nbsp;<strong>beginners<\/strong>.&nbsp;<strong>The purpose<\/strong>&nbsp;is to provide an understanding of the concept of machine learning and teach the modern tools in this field;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>teaching format:<\/strong>&nbsp;self-study with help of video and text materials via educational platform&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/eduportal.kau.org.ua\/\">eduportal.kau.org.ua<\/a>, passing of the final test;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You can meet the lecturer and learn the course structure from this\u00a0short\u00a0video:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Mathematical Foundations of Machine Learning\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/849_UOyVeu8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The course is free.
